Message Not sure if this question belongs in the tech section or not but I was thinking many of us check the general section more often.

I was taking my usual night time cruise and noticed the water temp rising from low 180s (typical when driving) to a high of 200 (mainly when idling for a few minutes).

I use to have similar temps when I didn't use a fan shroud but since getting a new fan shroud the water temp were mainly in the 180 range but when it rose last night and the hood was quite hot I am a little concerned and was wondering what everyone else on here is using to keep engine bay and water temperatures down.
I have tried water wetter (not sure of the brand but the color is pink) in the past and it seems to help some but only for a short amount of time.

Is there better stuff out there for water temperatures?

What kind of things can I do to keep the engine bay temps down?
